Who We Are

Here at 2020 Homes Self-Referrals we provide rental accommodation to a wide range of people including those facing homelessness or who are already homeless. The people we house come from a variety of back grounds ranging from domestic violence, and substance abuse through to individuals coming out of prison. We also provide housing tto families currently staying in our Emergency accommodation.

We are not your Usual type of Landlord. We believe in going above and beyond for our tenants.

We pride ourselves on helping our clients as much as possible. In some cases, we will offer to pay for a birth certificate if they have no ID and can assist with setting the client’s bank account up if they do not have one. By doing this, the tenants will have all the means to be able to apply for Universal Credit if they need to set up a new claim.

What We Do

We work with the job centre, housing benefit and Universal Credit to help the individuals claim the relevant benefits to be able to get their lives back on track. At a tenant’s request a member of our staff will accompany them to their job centre appointments and guide them through the benefit system as best as possible.

By providing our tenants with a secure place to call home we see a number of people previously unable to get a job gain successful employment.

By helping our tenants this way and by liaising with probation we have also seen a number of individuals who have been institutionalised because of years of reoffending break that cycle and begin adapting to normal life in the community through successful rehabilitation.

All Bills Inclusive

All of our properties come with gas electric and council tax included as standard.

24 Hour Security

Security guards are on call 24 hours a day and patrol our larger accommodation

No Bond No Problem

We don't charge a bond on our properties, all that is necessary is a £50 up front fee.

Fully Furnished

Our properties come with essential furniture and white goods as standard

Universal Credit Assistance

We help our tenants with Universal Credit applications and can assist with jobcentre appointments if necessary.

Food Donations available

We can provide our tenants with Tesco vouchers and KFC donations if needed.

Progression To Tenancy

We monitor our shared housing tenants and once assured of their capability to live independently we can offer them their own flat or house.

Shared Living

Initially most of our tenants will move into shared accommodation, but depending on their situation there is the possibility of singular accommodation or family homes.

In most cases, clients can move in the very same day, there is a possibility that this may be delayed for a few days if we need referencing from a selective landlord area.

We know how important having a connection can be, that's why throughout their tenancies we continue to support our residents by giving them access to telephones and computers and by helping them with all aspect of getting them back on their feet.

Our Process

When a prospective tenant comes into our office they will need identification, proof of earnings or benefit entitlement and bank account details and our friendly team is more than happy to assist in acquiring these if necessary.

Once all necessary documents are in order we discuss all available options and then take the prospective tenant to view a number of suitable properties to see which one they like the best.

When they have decided on a property our staff will take them through the tenancy agreement, making sure they are aware of all notable points and sign them up to the property.

Finally once all else has been completed, the tenancy has been signed, the keys are handed over and the tenant can move in.

Rebecca Vaughan




Rebecca is our department manager, she first started with us as an apprentice, has worked her way up and now spends her time liasing with various councils, making sure our tenants are happy and the office runs smoothly. Her favourite person would be Fluffy Barker, who plays a vital role in the day to day office management.

Danielle-Laura Rose






Danielle is our administrator who uses the latest sales and letting agency software to manage our extensive portfolio, when she’s not in the office you'll usually find her liaising with external charities. Danielle has 2 beautiful children with a third on the way, she has her hands full that’s for sure.

Phillip Wardle






Phil has worked for 2020 for almost 4 years now and is a dedicated team member who is ready to help and advise our tenants if they are struggling and helping them to move forward. He is very outgoing and enjoys socialising but mostly spending time with his beloved german shepherd bella.

Charlie Vaughan






Charlie is the youngest member of our team at just 18 and although she has only just passed her driving test she is fully trained as a housing advisor and more than capable of handling any situation, described by our tenants as always helpful and kind, her guilty pleasure is chocolate.

Kendra Walker






Kendra is currently training to be a Housing Advisor and she is really enjoying the new challenges and tasks given, especially helping and advising our tenants with moving forward in their lives towards a brighter future. She enjoys music, reading and cooking for their therapeutic qualities.
